Elizabeth “Betty” DeBickero
11 May 1936 ~ 6 June 2017
Betty DeBickero was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher and friend. She was a women who loved life, embraced it fully and loved to laugh. In fact, it is the thing she loved most. Betty was one of seven children born 11 May 1936, to Irish immigrant parents. Married James DeBickero in 1960 and had three children. She graduated from St. Xavier in 1959 and started her dream of teaching. What did Betty teach? She taught: say yes to adventures, have faith and trust in the goodness of people, laugh whenever possible, cheeseburgers and fries are good for you. Have a positive attitude when facing life’s challenges and faith that it will all work out. She taught us like a tree, we need to take care of our roots and keep reaching for the sky. She taught us to embrace the richness family and friends bring to your life. And to all life choices; "Why Not?"
